Hinze Pen Company Fountain Pen – Uncle Kenney
A new collaboration between Elyce (Starry Night Resins) and Jim’s Brother Ken Hinze. These two developed the colors based on the photo in the second picture. They did this over Christmas 2021 and we released the pen in Chicago this year. My brother has always liked colors in nature, and rocks in particular. He brought a picture of a mineral deposit/agate/geode (I’m honestly not sure). There were a multitude of colors, but most prominent were white, goldish brown, turquoise, and purple. Using some of her knowledge with interference pigments and layering of color, Elyce, in our opinion, nailed the resulting resin when compared to the picture.
Hinze Pens is truly a family business, with all of us jumping in and lending a bit of creativity.
